ONLINE at rmkfilmsspringcinemashowcase.com MAY 17-31, 2021 – RMK Films Inc. of Culver City, CA, USA and a select group of independent filmmakers, offer a curated slate of compelling short films, free to the public, to celebrate the gamut of human experience in a variety of genres including comedy, drama, documentary, horror, foreign language and music video.

“As we begin to emerge from the darkness of the pandemic, we wanted to share a slate of films which we feel celebrates the emergence of life that is clearly abundant in springtime. The expanding group of films include:

ROSE IS A ROSE IS A ROSE
Davy Ludd, an old-fashioned outdoor expert, is being dragged into a world of new technology and social media by his millennial boss Jake when searching for his long-lost high school sweetheart Rose.

Davy’s odyssey forces him onto a path of both looking back and letting go. A neophyte on the internet, Davy has unexpected encounters before finally locating Rose, his Rose. As they meet, he is again shocked to learn that times have changed, and so should he.

VISITOR
The story of Leon (Eddie King) a farmer who is suffering from survivor’s guilt, moral injury and PTSD symptoms years after his military service in Afghanistan. The year is 2034 and Leon cares for his granddaughter Abigail (Ruby Chappelle Millstein) on the family farm when an unexpected visitor arrives. Cliff (Alexander Cook) is Leon’s former squad-mate who has difficulty expressing himself due to severe injuries sustained during the conflict. The two men endeavor to find a way to reconcile, yet time alone does not allow them to heal the wounds of their hearts and minds.

PORCH LIGHT
A cowboy calls on his loyal sidekick to save the day after he impulsively blasted a man who came screamin’ and hollerin’ through his front door. Things take a wild turn when the buddy’s obsession with forensic evidence leaves them armed and dangerously underdressed – just in time to welcome an unexpected bachelor party.

RANCOUR
A mother reaches out to her estranged son in a last-ditch effort to convince him to farewell his father, but we soon discover that the wayward scion is lost in the grip of something far more visceral than paternal rebellion. Something malignant.
